The Hardest Part of Any Auto Restoration Project

Classic car restoration is not only about restoring a vehicle, it’s about restoring the times of a bygone era. For hobbyists that restore these cars, it’s a labor of love.

Now, you’ve found the perfect classic car, perfect model – it just needs a little work. But, where to begin? The hardest part of any auto restoration project is determining the scope of the project. Without clear cut goals and budgets at the beginning, you can easily find yourself in an endless and ongoing relationship with your automobile. Your money will rapidly transfer itself to your car, your time will disappear, and your automobile will never be quite finished – because you’ll always find some other slight imperfection to work on and “fix”.

There is no one right way to go about restoring a car. But good restorers do have common traits that separate them from the ones that never seem to finish their restoration jobs.

1. The ability to set realistic goals – No matter how long you take or how much money you spend, you will never be able to restore a classic car exactly to it’s state when it was originally brought to the market. Body paints are produced differently now than in the past so while you can easily get a color match, you will never get an exact paint ingredient match. Likewise, the formulations of finishing materials such as varnishes, enamels, and so on are no longer the same. And the same is true for many of the other classic car components. So you, as the restorer, have to set realistic goals as to exactly what parts of the car you are going to restore to their original states and what parts of the car you are willing to restore “as close as possible” to their original states.

2. Patience – It may sound paradoxical, but without patience, your chance of finishing your auto restoration are slim. You need patience because a major restoration job is seldom without problems. You discover the fuel gauge is not working and you have to scrounge around for a replacement. Or, the electrical system is suddenly becoming erratic and you lose two weeks time resolving the problem. Without patience, you may well decide to just give up and abandon the project or leave it until another day that never comes.

3. Love of Research – A good restorer, by necessity, has to be a good researcher as well. A car restorer spends much of his time not actively working on the auto, but finding what replacement parts are needed for his classic car and locating them. There are times when you will find yourself literally doing research for an entire day. If you don’t love research – or at least like it a lot – you can be sure of many miserable days ahead.

4. Good manual skills – This goes without saying but unless you love working with your hands and have some skills to speak of, you might just as well take your checkbook out and pay someone to restore the car for you, because you’ll never get it done yourself.

It seems as though the hobby of restoring classic cars is having a resurgence but before you decide to take the leap yourself and outfit your garage with installation tools, make sure you have the traits that will let you succeed at your new hobby.

Rebound Relationships Can Help You Get Your Ex Back

If your relationship has turned sour recently and your boyfriend or husband has chosen a rebound relationship, how do you go about getting him back? A rebound relationship is where someone dates another person soon after splitting up with their partner, to try and get over their ex. These types of relationships offer a break from the many emotions you go through after a break up. When someone needs help moving on from real love, they can turn to a rebound relationship.

And this point is important in getting him back. The fact that he is in a rebound relationship to get over breaking up with you, speaks volumes. The cause of the breakup doesn’t matter. If it was you or him that announced the split, still does not matter.

Looking beyond the cause of the split, you can see that it was real love. If you remember one thing from this article, remember this; true love almost always has a way of being saved. The rebound relationship will make him think about the things that went wrong in the relationship he had with you.

If he has picked a rebound partner completely the opposite of what you are like, this is normal because he will be trying to have less reminders of you. At this point he will be noticing the differences between his rebound partner and you, which is great for you for two reasons.

1. He cant help but think about you when he is around her.
2. It gives you an insight into what he is thinking.

If he has chosen someone as different as you can get to yourself, then it might be a hint that he felt he was missing something. If you think this rings true, try using the time you have apart to make improvements in your own life. Don’t try to break the new relationship up. The more time he spends with his new partner, the more flaws he will start to notice in her.

After a little while, he will start to think of you as the better relationsihp option. This is the main reason you want him to do whatever he is going to do. He will come to the conclusion that he misses you, all by himself. When he does come back asking for you, you wont need to play hard to get.

Just focus on the improvements that you have made for yourself and he will do all the chasing. When your ex moves on to a rebound relationship, know that you can get back together at some point. Keep in mind that for him to be in this type of relationship means that he had strong feelings for you when you were together and he still has them.

Are Antonio Sabato Jr And Brooke Barlow Still Together

Are Antonio Sabato Jr and Brooke Barlow still together? Nope. In fact the breakup of Antonio Sabato Jr and Brooke Barlow, winner of his love on the reality show My Antonio, was not news to fans.

As apparent from comments at least on LALATE, viewers had already known from leaks in advance of last nights finale that the couple werent even together anymore. Viewers said they had heard the couple had split 2 months ago. Thats exactly what Brooke told VH-1 after the shows finale last night.

I am not in touch with Antonio. We havent spoken in two, three months. We put effort into it. I met his children. We had a great time – as good of a time as you have indoors with no outside contact. I was really nice getting to know him and his children.

When you put two people together there has to be a lot of conversation and a deep, spiritual connection as far as establishing a foundation for a relationship. He thought that should come with time, but to me, I felt like we didnt have much to talk about.

But yet, Brooke is happy from the exposure and is looking forward to new work.

Had the relationship worked out, I wouldnt have cared about parlaying it into exposure and opportunities. but since it didnt Im hoping the exposure will enable me to have other work.

Stress In Relationships

Though many couples experience problems during the course of their relationships, it is often how they deal with those problems that will either keep them together or, break them apart. A true test of love and respect is how people treat each other when problems arise and as difficult as it might be to remain respectful toward a person that has become such a comfortable fixture in a persons life, this constant upkeep can allow for the happiest of couples, even in the worst of times.
Many people feel that relationships today undergo a great deal of stress for many reasons; the changing roles of men and women; our fast paces society; both partners having careers while trying to raise a family and many more reasons that can be seen in modern day relationships. One of the most difficult aspects of these problems is that in order to resolve them the couple needs time together. Too often people find that even while living under the same roof they dont have the time to pour into lengthy discussions and when they do it seems a waste of the precious little time they have together because they perceive it as negative. Unfortunately, not attending the underlying problems that a couple may have will not resolve them; instead they are often brought up during other arguments; cause other problems that seem unfixable because the source isnt being addressed; or simply cause the couple to live in a state of unhappiness because they both know that something is wrong.
Though it does require participation, getting to the heart of a problem does not require dwelling on it for hours at a time. In fact, a wonderful way to prepare for an important discussion is to write down your personal thoughts about it, points that you would like to cover, on your own time; this will allow for a great deal more time focused on the issues rather than wasting time trying to think of key points.
A few basic recommendations before you sit down:
Write down your most important points so that you do not become flustered and forget.
Pick a time that is convenient for both you and your partner which allows you all the time you may need.
Choose a setting in which you and your partner will feel at ease.
Dont try to discuss anything if either you or your partner is not feeling up to it; this may just prove a waste of time if you are not both open to resolving your problems.
Learning how to better communicate with each other is a difficulty most couples experience at some point in their relationship. Often, if both people involved are committed to each others happiness, no problem is too difficult to resolve.
One basic problem that seems to occur in many relationships is the routine act of taking each other for granted. This can apply to hundreds of daily tasks and activities that become habit after enough time has gone by. Taking the time to thank your partner for the effort that they put into the relationship is extremely important. Quite often, a little attention and praise can go a long way toward creating a happy environment. Constantly feeling underappreciated can cause a great deal of unnecessary stress; in many cases one partner will have no idea that the other is having these feelings. While it is the responsibility of both partners to appreciate each other, it is also important to express any feelings which might not be apparent.
A regular argument amongst couples is that one partner should have known that the other partner was unhappy; while it is good to remain attentive to how your partner is feeling; if a problem is going unnoticed it becomes the responsibility of that person to voice it so that together, the couple can figure out how to solve it. Many people choose to keep feelings or thoughts to themselves because they either have no wish to bother their partner, or would like to see their partner recognize that the problem exists without their help. Though it is understandable this kind of action often causes more problems and leads to a pattern of behavior that divides the couple, rather than allowing them to get closer.
Many more problems exist that can cause unhappy situations for one or both people in a relationship and because of the unique dynamics so many people share it can be difficult to apply general solutions to a specific problem; however, here some key points, and recap, that seem to work for almost every couple in a wide variety of situations:
Discuss your feelings openly and be respectful of your partners as well.
Feeling comfortable does not excuse a person from taking another for granted; remember to treat your partner with respect and to show appreciation for their part in the relationship.
Voice your opinion; do not expect your partner to anticipate every thought you have; communication is an essential for any good relationship.
Be attentive to your partners needs and feelings.
Dont let problems divide you as a couple; find solutions together as a team.
Remember that you chose one another; even in the most horrible situations you should be able to work things out as long as you both care about each others happiness.
As long as there remains between you the will to provide a happy, safe and caring life for one another, stress can be kept to a minimum; allowing for your relationship to remain a successful one despite any difficulties that you face.
